Contest Rules & Regulations
To ensure a fair and competitive environment for all participants, please adhere to the following rules during all Decode Data Academy contests.
General Eligibility
All participants must be registered on the DDA Contest platform. Specific contests may have additional eligibility criteria based on college, department, or academic year.
- One account per participant is strictly enforced.
- Ensure your profile details are accurate for prize verification.
- Campus-specific events may require a 4-digit PIN provided at the venue.
Programming Guidelines
Support is provided for Python, C++, Java, and JavaScript. Your code will be evaluated against multiple hidden test cases.
- Solutions must be submitted within the contest duration.
- Code must pass both complexity and correctness constraints.
- The built-in IDE should be used; external tools are permitted unless stated otherwise.
- "Reset Template" will wipe your current draft for that problem—use with caution.
Scoring & Leaderboard
We use a weighted scoring system based on the difficulty and type of the problem.
- Programming: Points are awarded based on the percentage of test cases passed.
- MCQ: Each correct answer contributes to your total score instantly.
- Tie-breaking: In case of equal scores, the participant who reached that score first (based on last correct submission timestamp) will be ranked higher.
Fair Play & Integrity
Decode Data Academy maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards cheating and plagiarism.
- Copying code from other participants or external sources is prohibited.
- Sharing solutions during the live contest will lead to immediate disqualification.
- Usage of unauthorized AI tools to generate solutions is tracked and moderated.
- Any attempt to attack or bypass the platform's security will result in a permanent ban.
Manual review of top submissions is conducted after each major contest. Final rankings are subject to verification by the DDA technical team.
